Dub is known to be the mother of all remixes. The idea of remixing the remix came up before Neil Perch, but the UKDub-Pionier has implemented this idea most beautifully so far with his series "Abassi All Stars Meet ...", which has been running since 2009. The series now consists of eleven 7 “singles made of colored vinyl, two of each Dub- Presenting versions of a rhythm: on the one hand the version of Neil Perch, on the other the version of a friend DubProducers. Now the eleven A-pages with the versions by Neil are nicely bundled together in the form of the new album of Abassi All Stars before: "Dub Conference " (Universal Egg). The exciting way to have two versions of one DubUnfortunately, being able to compare s no longer exists in this form, but the eleven tracks collected here are so good that it would be a shame to only hear half of them due to lack of space (actually a Dub-Double album here been perfect). I'm from the Dub Conference, which Neil Perch is holding here with his alter ego, the Abassi All Stars, is quite enthusiastic. All tracks are based on powerful, varied and very beautifully melodic productions that Neil either realized alone or as a co-production. The first track, “New World Dub“, Which was created together with the Vibronics, sets the direction of the sound system with its melodic, almost bouncing bassline. "Acropolis Dub“Connects seamlessly and shows off with an impressive, Dubstep reminding, distorted bass. "Solar system Dub“Inevitably makes me think of early Zion Train productions with its extremely accentuated offbeat and echo. Likewise the track "African Pressure", in which the house elements are even more present. “Better Collie” is also one of my favorites: To a heavy steppers beat with a wobbling bassline, Longfingah eloquently explains the advantages of good ganjas before tuning into an impressive one Dub takes off. Although all tracks are built close to the UK-Steppers, they avoid the well-trodden paths and instead shine with inventiveness and strong compositions. Good sound system material that also works at home - provided the speaker boxes are big enough!
My verdict: Strong dubs, great compositions. Made for sound systems but avoids the UK steppers cliché.
