And there they are again: The new On-U-Sound rereleases. After the legacy of African Head Charge was neatly prepared last year, the early back catalog of the Dub Syndicateit's on. It includes the following four studio albums: "The Pounding System", "One Way System", "North of the River Thames" and "Tunes from the Missing Channel". As a bonus there is interesting, previously unreleased material, summarized on a fifth album under the title: Dub Syndicate "Displaced Masters" (On-U Sound). Quite minimalistic recordings, but because of their incomplete nature they have a particularly rough charm and once again prove how far ahead of the times Adrian Sherwood was with his On-U sound. All five albums are of course perfectly remastered and with detailed liner notes as splendid vinyl releases and as CDs - the latter also as a 5-CD box with an extra-beautiful booklet. If you can do without the physical object in the collection, you can listen to the albums via stream - but then also have to forego the interesting reading material.

Personally, I would like to see someone who Dub Syndicate accepts albums released on Scotts' own Lion & Roots label. They have physically disappeared from the scene and are not even available as streams, unfortunately. For example, “Acres of Space” is * the * masterpiece by Scott and Sherwood. Bring it back, pa-lease!

I wanted to hold back a little more and not always squeeze out my entire mustard tube when I want to get rid of my mustard. But how should I get on the subject Dub Syndicate and On-U.Sound curb my enthusiasm ??? No chance !
Enthusiasm? ... to be honest, I personally find all of these refeeding publications completely superfluous. It would be bad if the sound were polished to such an extent that they could keep up with today's SubBassSound. Then I'd have to get all the old ones Dub Buy new Syndicate discs. Fortunately, that's not the case. And I feel absolutely no enthusiasm when I consider that I've had to wait for at least two years for the "new record" from Ghetto Priest, which is supposedly in the works for a long time. There is a taste of “Slave State” on the net…. You can see Adrian Sherwood on YouTube and hear him mixing the tune. Since then I've been addicted to the new Ghetto Priest record. Unfortunately, the funding for the record failed. Anyway, I'm sitting here sucking my shoelaces because nothing comes of it.
Yes ... .. and that some things cannot even be streamed, fortunately only bothered those who not only have a clue, but who really know ;-)
Ok, nothing against Spotify (I really like them now) but also for example with Misty In Roots they open up huge abysses. Otherwise I have the feeling that you can stream almost anything on Spotify.
