Dub As is well known - thanks to his focus on drum & bass - he cannot deny a certain proximity to minimalism. If you take such a minimalist one Dub, lets him remix 13 (!) times and then packs all the remixes plus the original onto one album - then you will undoubtedly receive the manifesto of minimalism par excellence. Or true Concept Art. But above all you get a lesson in terms of "Dub“, Because how else could the possibilities of Dub demonstrate so perfectly? Dub-Mutation in vitro, so to speak. It is, of course, our favorite Hamburg label, Echo Beach, that we owe this lesson to. 14 Mixes by Style Scotts "Dub is All I Got“(Echo Beach) - originally on Dub Syndicate's "Hard Food" album to be found - Back to Back and from some of the most exciting Dub-Mixers of the present: Dubblestandard, Dubvisionist, Aldubb, Umberto Echo, Victor Rice, Brain Damage, Robo Bass HiFi, Sensi Dub, Fenin et al. A showdown of superlatives - it's not for nothing that the album bears the subtitle “Remix Clash”. I would be interested to know who is the winner here DubAudience would. I'm very much from Sensi Dubs Steppers variant and Fenin's electro minimal remix - but please let me talk to you.

High Rene '. We need to talk !
You forgot a star;)!
When I read your album review here I initially thought, oh no, what should I do with a one-riddim album ?! Admittedly, the “helicopter riddim” (I don't know what it is called in sound system circles) is one of the most driving riddims to have come from Jamaica. But 14 times in a row is really not my thing. In rare exceptional cases, however, I have also bought one-riddim albums. And here would be such an exception. In advance of Echo Beach, the record will also be available in stores.
With the best will in the world, I can't answer the question about the winner of the Remix Clash. I just haven't known the disc long enough for that. However, I would spontaneously highlight ours Dubvisionists, Aldubb and Victor Rice. I find theirs Dubs the most playful and you can tell "the twelfth man on the pitch" because they celebrate the greatest joke at the mixer. When it comes to the keyword mixer, however, I also approach it seamlessly Dubmatix, who is here with both - delivered by him - Dubversions shows why I'm a huge fan of his. I also like Oliver Frost's version very much, especially because it also uses wind instruments.
If I'm really looking for a weak point, I would say that with the David Harrow version I like the drum riddim but not the whole thing Dub is then cool again. The Sensi Dub - Remix didn't immediately spark my full enthusiasm, but in the end I like it very much. And the version of Fenin that you highlighted is not one of my top favorites either. But that's only because this album consists almost entirely of top favorites. So here I am not one hundred percent on your wavelength when it comes to the details, but you said yes ... you let yourself be talked to.
I just hope that I can or want to hear the “HelicopterRiddim” at the end of the disc.
Well, that will be ………………… .. lemmi
Oh, it occurs to me that it would be interesting (for me) to know whether Dubblestandart as well Dub Spencer and Trance Hill have re-plucked the versions again.
Ok, until ………… .. lemmi
Incidentally, colleague Karsten from IrieItes also disagrees with the favorites: http://www.irieites.de/wordpress/?p=10187
Hehe, yes the Karsten from Irie Ites. I have “known” him for a long time. But he doesn't know that I exist. Part of his sound system has already performed excellent dances here in Göttingen. The main thing about their program for me is that the tunes are mostly played in full length and, above all, at their original speed. In addition, they hardly play duncehall but only very danceable reggae and every now and then awesome Dub Sprinkle.
But I swear I didn't write off Clash favorites on his Remix.
But I could really break into tears over the whole topic, there Dub Syndicate - concerts will unfortunately no longer take place.
Stop The War ……………………… lemmi
I don't know if anyone is still interested in the fast-moving times, but the question was: "who wins?" Dub I think it's cool. I can now also show your enthusiasm for the Sensi Dub Variant and also for the Fenin version very well understood. But since I have the version of Dub Spencer and Trance Hill plays most often, it must be the best for me and therefore the winner.
For a few DubIt's more ……………. lemmi
