Dubcall: desolation

Whenever I have a series worth discussing Dub-Releases have collected and I get down to writing, there is an album that has grown particularly dear to my heart, although it is neither innovative, nor spectacular, nor any other reason to highlight it. One such album is “Desolation” (self-distributed) by the Swedish combo Dubcall. It's ... well, kind of really good. But why? Maybe because it is very classical, sounds hand-played and has beautiful melodic melodies to offer? Maybe because that Dubs based on good basslines and the mix is interesting? Maybe because the musicians understand their craft perfectly, have made nice arrangements and a clean sound? Or maybe it's Sweden's long winter nights that influenced the sound here. Because while outside, in the dark cold, desolation and despair (desolation!) Reign, the offers Dub-Sound here in the studio security and warmth. Instead of facing the adversities of the outside world, we can relax in here, feel good and let the bass massage our souls. Sound esoteric? I know, but somehow the sound makes you happy. You have to find it so relaxed and satisfied in our hectic Babylon capitalism. Here is a small, acoustic oasis to come to your senses again. You just have to listen to these Swedes.
