habooDuBz: Multicultural

Gabor Polaak aka HabooDuBz is already familiar to me with his last album “Fried Rize Dubz, Vol. 3 ”, which appeared last year, really grew on my heart. Musically socialized in Budapest, then emigrated to Manchester, moved to London, then emigrated to Cambodia, traveled extensively through Mexico and finally returned to his Hungarian homeland - no wonder his new one Dub-Plant "Multi cultural“(Dan Dada Records). And rightly so, because each of the fifteen Dub-Tracks presents cosmopolitan influences: Greek, Celtic, Latin American, Asian, Baltic, Indian, Arabic and a few more mingle here. However, these influences are not really organic with that Dub interwoven, but mostly lie on a largely classical melody level Dub-Backings. Anyone who thinks of the "Spy from Cairo" is right. Still, I like the album exceptionally well. I love these melodies from all corners of the world. Even if they are only used superficially here, they result in extremely varied, optimistic feel-goodDubs. Yes, Dub doesn't have to be dark, mystical and heavy. Upliftment in Dub is also possible. And then there must be a very important advantage of the new HabooDuBz albums: There is Hungary what this country needs most right now - a decent lesson in multiculturalism.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

“Anyone who thinks of the“ Spy from Cairo ”is absolutely correct. I still like the album exceptionally well. "
That was good :)))

I'm on a ski vacation for a while and I don't understand the world anymore. Do you not like the spy from Cairo or is the disc so good precisely because it sounds like “Spy From Cairo” ?!
I admit that the ambiguity leaves me a little confused ……. lemmi

Yes, the way he wrote it, you could think that ;-) …… .. but that's exactly beyond my imagination ………… lemmi

Maybe that is a bit ambiguous, but Lemmi knows my taste well: Of course I like the spy. A lot!

Hehe, it's really penny-pinching now, but you can understand that you think the album is very good, although it sounds like the "spy" and is therefore not completely independent and incomparable. So basically not as innovative as possible ...... ;-)
I just have to apologize DubFans not only listen more carefully to music, but also read texts very carefully when they are of great interest.

Cheers …………. lemmi

unfortunately, like lemmi, I don't have the opportunity to “really” listen to music at work. the speakers in the monitor bring what is most important in sound systems, namely the bass, not even on top. On some tracks I practically only hear the hi-hats and a little melody.
thanks to “free download” (it's amazing what kind of times we live in, this release would have been super-cumbersome imported goods 20 years ago) I will be able to catch up on that without any problems.

with plenty of bass, fairly linear down to 29 Hz <3

"Unfortunately, like lemmi, I don't have the opportunity to" really "listen to music at work."

But that's only half the story, because most of the time they always bother me with work …………………. lemmi
