Jamaram & Umberto Echo: 2020 in Dub

Jamaram's party sound is not my thing - definitely. That's why I was skeptical when - on January 10th - the album "2020 in Dub" (Turban) of Jamaram appeared. Mixed by Umberto Echo! A preview album for the coming year? Would be a cool concept: The future hit singles first as Dub-Mix to bring out. But nothing there! "2020 in Dub“Brings together various tracks from the past few years and turns them into an interesting, catchy, entertaining one Dub-Album. Yes, actually: the party sound gives way under Umberto Echo's fingers and reveals rock-solid productions, varied, inspired, idiosyncratic and distinctive. I didn't expect that Jamaram's ostensible party attitude would hide such complex and artfully designed productions. So the best material for Umberto Echo's mixing talent (which fell by the wayside with his overly smooth Oneness albums). Here he succeeds again in building up beautiful dramaturgies and developing breathtaking dynamics - just as we were used to from him. This once again proves the old wisdom: good ones Dubs need good rhythms.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I found the first Jamaram in Dub Album good. At that time ran quite often with me. Summer 2011 or 2012? And when I look when it came out it says "dubbed by Umberto Echo “on it. I'm looking forward to the second part :)

If I only knew who then borrowed the CD permanently ...
