Adrian Sherwood: The Collapse Of Everything

This will almost certainly not be my favoriteDubDisc!
And yes, if music sounds interesting, that's not necessarily a reason to celebrate. But I'm already very excited to see how I'll hear this record on my "Psycho"DubCouch" with a proper "hypnosis hit." I'm sure something will happen!

So long …………… .. lemmi

I'm missing a bit of reggae, but Adrian has never really done much of that (apart from cheap siren samples ;;). I don't like it.

To enjoy this album, the listener shouldn't have high expectations. There's little to nothing in the way of classic reggae. I wouldn't put any of the songs on at a dance floor either... and yet, if you listen to the LP or a high-quality, lossless digital version at a comfortable volume, sitting in front of good speakers or with headphones on, there's a lot to discover, and I personally really like the mixes and effects. This music is like fine wine: not a quick fix, but a lasting influence, and it gets better the more you listen to it.

Please don't drag the good wine into the mix ;)! I've heard it a few times now and I'd say it's a cheap, open-bottled Penny wine that's been opened and is slightly rancid!

As we all know, there is no accounting for taste, and what one person likes may not necessarily be the same for another…

Unfortunately, I don't like the wine at all. It's almost like vinegar to my taste...
As is well known, there are connoisseurs here who highly appreciate the taste of Sherwood Forest. They deserve the wine, but I prefer water.

Dub on wine!? Better not!

I understand everyone who DubI don't really like Adrian's music, or even don't like it at all. But in my opinion, On .U Sound connoisseurs can't ignore it. I don't like wine at all either (I'd have to drink it off somehow), but the wine comparison is quite apt. Besides, Adrian's record perhaps just needs a little more breathing room.
As I always like to say, Adrian Sherwood may not turn water into wine, but he can transform punk into musical gold. And that's thanks to his very fine feeling for samples and effects of all kinds. There's definitely a lot to discover there. That's for sure.

Greetings from an On .U Sound Sommelier!
