One response to “Keith Hudson: Nuh Skin Up Dub (Re-release)”
Keith Hudson and his productions are also a good example of music and especially of Dub, where quite a few things are daring. I don't see it as daring so much as the result of an attitude in which one doesn't care so much about the opinions and expectations of hit-seeking producers and consumers, but rather about what one believes to be right. This almost logically results in music that is very special and most likely doesn't cater to the tastes of ordinary radio listeners, but much more to the needs of music connoisseurs who often like to look beyond their own so-called horizons because they know that there is a lot of mystical magic out there, and with Keith Hudsen you'll always find it.
I am particularly impressed by the second half of the album DubTunes that exceeded my expectations (see, I have expectations too) of Dub by Keith Hudsen completely fulfills my desire for mystical magic. Especially "Ire Ire," which should probably be "Irie Irie," fulfills my desire for mystical magic. "Troubles" perhaps even takes it a step further. "No Commitment" is actually no less impressive. As I said, I particularly like the second half. "Bad Things" Dub“ is great and (not only) in “Words Dub" rustles a little too much for me. But that's just a side note.
