Admittedly, a so-called stylistic borderline case (or melting pot?). Nevertheless, for me, this album belongs here. Afrobeat, highlife, jazz, reggae & a very small DubWho cares? Incredibly groovy and deep music.
“That’s…that’s…the coffee mix”?!
No! But that's jazz! Isn't it? I'd even say it's good jazz! (If I'm not mistaken). It certainly grooves to me, too. The wind instruments aren't too annoying either. Except in "(At The Junction)". ………… "Three Horns" try to make I and I run"
I especially like the relaxed (jazzy) drumming. And the guitar(s). The piano and/or keyboard also create a truly high-end feel. The rhythm, bass and drums, groove very well from start to finish.
Favorite tune: “Sumsum Adwuma” …………….. so groooovy!
Pure goosebumps! From the first note to the last. (Okay, the keyboard drags a bit towards the end, but hey, I don't want to keep complaining.)
The music is definitely something for connoisseurs and therefore, in my opinion, belongs here.
(But if every good jazz album is presented here, I'm sure I'll make a "stupid comment" at some point, because with DubIt has absolutely nothing to do with music, in my opinion... we'd have to create a new section for that... if I'm not mistaken. Or a new blog, which could be called "We don't have time for bad jazz"... ;-)... if you know what I mean.
