There is too much banging on the drums for me.
no real Dubfeeling and the best feelings come once again from the well-known BiasLines.
Sometimes I suspect that my enthusiasm for reggae and Dub subsides but whenever I play my old “evergreens”,
I feel "the fire" that has the power to burn down the walls of Babylon within me. Unfortunately, more than 99% of people are immune to this fire. Their broken hearts beat for tiktok, facebook, SUVs on the highway and handbags from gutchie...

Yes, lemmi,
I get this feeling more and more often, especially when I hear old gems like the current re-release of the Keith Hudson album: “Playing It Cool & Playing It Right”.
It doesn't really matter which album we're talking about. The albums from the heyday of reggae - whether from Jamaica or England - simply can't be topped. The wow factor was far too big for that. Of course there is a lot of newer music from our beloved genre that we like, but what really sticks in your memory are the classics from back then, and we have more than enough of those.
Ja Ras Vorbei ! Sometimes (more and more often) I have such phases where I no longer feel like accepting all the nice attempts of today. From Le Faune Stepper to Muflon Dub Sound System I thought everything was quite nice but my reggae time was too short for "quite nice". Therefore I didn't have enough energy to write a comment. But I don't want to discourage anyone from continuing to enjoy reggae and Dub to produce but it's just increasingly lacking "bite" and the dog is no longer really pulling on the leash. I don't want any "gendered" reggae that feels like a chili without chili. Inspector Columbo certainly wouldn't have been interested in that either.
And yes, maybe Keith Hudson stirred the soup pot again with “Playing It Cool and Playing It Right” and released the fiery ethereal substances that ignite the inner fire I need.
As if the whole album title wanted to prove me right with all its power.
“Playing It Cool And Playing It Right”!!! …….. lemmi
