“The Badmind” actually sums it up perfectly.
DreadZone may seem pop but (I am talking here
first of all just for me ) it makes good and beautiful feelings in me, while this pop music from Undubground and now the remixes for the disco club or I don't know what for, tend to create an inner aversion in me. It's not as bad as I've just expressed it but the rhythms (I find it difficult to call them riddims) and especially the "toasted" a la Sean Paul don't turn me off, in fact they don't turn me on at all. Sure, at après ski I would really enjoy all these tunes but at home I wouldn't have any time for them. The level is simply too high for that. I could give other examples but hey! Friends of good taste, "whatever is allowed" ondubground with "justice" the faune stepper remix and "dem badmind" dubanko remix?! Mind you, these are just examples, but they clearly explain why I can't play something like that at home and why I don't want to hear something like that at a party. I can't understand how anyone can be tolerant of such artificial synth sounds like "detlefv getter". That is the complete opposite of Lee "Scratch" Perry, Scientist and all Friends of DubMusic.
And if someone wants to tell me that this sound is "contemporary", then that only confirms my suspicion that we live in shitty times.
