Ras Teo Meets I-David: Anbessa Ina Dub

Sometimes circles only close after a long time. Here, the Dubs from one of my favorite Ras Teo albums. I like them all but with “Gi Dem Dub“They have extracted my absolute favorite tune by Ras Teo, which has been playing in my PrimeTime for years, as a riddim concentrate and thus the essential for us DubHeads in a nutshell. But nothing against the vocal version by Ras Teo. That always remains a very good foundation for this Dub.

Yeah man! “Gi dem Dub !!!” ……………………… lemmi

I am once again confused why the vocal album is called “Ambessa” and the Dubalbum “Anbessa In Dub“ is called!
This contradicts my sense of logic…
And the identical cover was already released on February 3, 2025 under Da Lion Music from Portugal (https://dalionmusic.bandcamp.com/album/chant-and-call-2)… of course with a different title and artist name on it… still weird!
I'll concentrate on the music, because I also think it's first-class...

Hi, Philipp: Ambessa is an Amharic first name for girls and means lioness, and Anbessa is the Amharic first name for boys and means lion.
In Dreieich, near Offenbach in Hesse, there is FC Anbessa.

That's not true, I think that's because Amharic is written in fidel and not with Latin letters and therefore the translations into the Latin script are not really clear;)
???? – should actually be written with an n, there is no feminine form, one then rather speaks of seyt anbessa – female lion.

Okay, I thank you for your explanations and I still don’t understand it… and I definitely don’t know Amharic… maybe it was just a Stegalenicist at work who mixed up the alternating letters! Or if you dubbt and sets the right filter, the “M” becomes an “N”…
