Well, Gussie Edwards Studios and Sabab are an unexpectedly positive discovery in the Dubworld... Lee "Scratch's" spirit and vibe has definitely arrived in Ireland... I especially like Sabab's more rootsy albums, especially the exuberant and driving "Sabab at Gussie Edwards" with the red Baldhead cover... takes time, but it's how a good red wine... is getting better and better, there are always different facets emerging...
So I can only say, with this festival of fundamental and style-defining riddims, they and I have a complete lack.
As far as I'm concerned, you can flatten me with that. I put myself under it completely voluntarily and humbly.
yeah man ! Brutalize me with this manifestation of galactic riddims !!!
I want to hear it again and again! Start again please!
So long ………… .. lemmi
Hi Philipp and Lemmi,
i am complete with you A few riddims sounded very familiar to me yesterday when I first heard them. But I didn't want to go on the search for the originals for reasons of time either - the accidental find already flashed me enough.
I was just back on the Sabab Bandcamp site and found the following: “Sabab loots & plunders these Jamaican classics in a Gussie Edwards dubplate style. Rough & tough, no quarter given."
The title of the album is also explained under this aspect.
Riddims for eternity in Sabab Style.
The pirate "steals" and here he even refines it... a pleasure and legitimate...
