The vocal version is a mega album. I also think it's the best release of 2025. Hopefully the... Dub Version also released on vinyl.
Oh what a beautiful Monday morning!
To be honest, I'm not a fan of differing opinions. That's why I'm all the more pleased when we agree as much as you all do, or rather, as we do here. For me, this album, inna VocalVersion, is among the best I've been able to buy this year. The right guys (and maybe a few girls or "ladies") got together again to make a really beautiful and punchy roots reggae album. I have to especially highlight "Free Yemen." It's a conflict that receives far too little media coverage. Probably because a large part of the population can't cope with this reality on top of everything else. Well, it's probably not quite as bad for the viewers as it is for the people in Yemen themselves. But it's really hard to have to stand by and watch all these crimes unfold and be powerless to do anything. Politicians are (unfortunately) completely incompetent when it comes to maintaining decent living conditions for the people. They're all failures, or just plain criminals. That's all for now.
"Free Yemen" is also a particularly good BIG TUNE for me for another reason! If I didn't know for sure, I'd say it's the Wailing Souls! So, either the melody is a cover version of an older Wailing Souls song, or Upyard is simply almost as musically gifted as the Wailing Souls.
I've been waiting for it since around the end of May. Dubversions and I am also very pleased to be able to listen to and stream them now. To complete the event, I would like to add the DubI would also gladly purchase the "Black Magic Plastic" version.
All DubThey're good (except for the one that "chimneys" and squeaks), but I've got another one of those really bad ones here. DubA high-flyer that initially overshadows everything else. At least until the sun reveals a different perspective for me. The "Outequality" Dub“It has me completely in its grip. Not just because it's so good, peppered and "cured" with excellent effects, but because it awakens very old memories and powerfully energizes the primal synapses of my reggae-myth. Although the riddim isn't exactly the same, I'm strongly reminded of a great showcase track by UB40. I feel the groove and atmosphere of "Madam Medusa" in every cell of my being.”
Well, long story short:

My favorite reggae album this year (25) as DubVersion… If that isn't an early Christmas present…
Here is the link to the vocal album, which was released at the end of May 2025:
