For me, this is one of the best roots reggae albums I have bought so far this year. A singer who never blares and also has a very pleasant voice. The bass lines also impressed me very positively. As it was easy to read on the cover that Roberto Sanchez had also helped with the production, it was only a matter of time before I would buy the album. DubAlbum is released. The DubAlbum is again very solid, without exaggerated DubEffects, as we are used to from Roberto Sanchez (unfortunately). As far as I am concerned, he could “spin around” a bit more and “Dubbing” a little further out on a limb. I really appreciate that he did not use the “Sputnik effect” (beep beep beep I love you all). Or he hid the effect well. In any case, I have not noticed it as disturbing so far. Maybe the bassist (!) and singer Brasz Aleixo or Zambeze said something like “hey man, I want the lemmi to play not only the roots version, but also the DubVersion can be celebrated properly”. Or he even told him that this beeping was an error that had no or
if at all, has produced a good new version. If you know what I mean. “Every Mistake makes a new style or a new version” or something similar, that’s what I mean in the “Book Of Dub“ Well, for the (completely stupid) beeping, the “new version” is not true.
I sincerely thank the producers for refraining from doing this.
OK, now I'll pull my head back in and close the window I've leaned out of a bit too far.

It's good that you mentioned the "Portrait of a Rootsman" LP again... unfortunately, in the abundance of releases, it somehow passed me by, or rather, brushed past me and then bounced back into oblivion. That was actually a mistake, because after listening to it again and again, it turns out to be a gem.
Regarding the Dub-Mixes by Maestro Roberto Sánchez, I agree with you that I would have liked a bit more experimentalism and “crazyness” from him… it is very good, but down to earth (conservative) with effects and mixing.
High Philip!
Thank you for your comment! I'm always happy when I can read not only my comments on the reviews and other publications, but also another perspective that may even be different from or complementary to the reviewer and my comments.
And a sorrow shared is a sorrow halved, as the saying goes. That is why it feels less bad when I read that I am not the only one who keeps getting good records because there are so many new releases in reggae and Dub gives.
I'll tell you how it is. If I hadn't been able to get a hold of this record, it would have been forgotten long ago, just like you. But when a record like this is lying there and "smiling" at you with the cover, you naturally use it much more often, if only because it cost something. At least that's how it is for me.
The DubVersion will only work again if there is a cover around it. All my Dubs, from LP and CD still have absolute priority over these "ex and hop" releases. I can't say whether that's really smart, but just yesterday evening a film classic was shown on ARTE, the title of which is very close to mine. The film is called:
“The Indomitable”…. ;-) ……….. Greetings …………….. lemmi
