Dominic Giam, who lives in London, is an experienced musician, DJ and producer who has been working under his pseudonym "Shaolin Dub"As well as for many years under another incarnation" Ketsa ". Actually a real veteran of the London independent and underground music scene that was completely unknown to me before. As "Ketsa" he is a damn productive artist who has released well over 15 tracks with varied downtempo, trip-hop, ambient and / or electronic music in the last 500 years. Many of his pieces of music are melancholy in nature and his sound apparently fits perfectly as background music for moving images. His music has been used for countless advertising clips from Greenpeace, National Geographic, the United Nations to German and Swedish automobile manufacturers, to name just a few.
The album, which was released in 2019 "Warrior Way" is his third and I think it's best. It appeared under his second alter ego “Shaolin Dub“With which he has already released four albums. A wide variety of sound ideas are offered on 14 tracks with a playing time of almost an hour. The music on the album moves in reggae offbeat between all fronts. We hear a colorful, lively potpourri that ranges from Far Eastern to South American soundscapes, jazzy sprinkles, playful keyboard or piano work, crisp horn movements, Asian-influenced flute and melodic melodic parts as well as polyrhythmic drum patterns. Sometimes the vocals sound a bit acid-jazzy like De-Phazz, sometimes trip-hoppy like Beth Gibbons from Portishead. I like “Warrior Way” very much and is an exciting, above all varied collection of modern music Dub- and reggae tracks, the King Tubby's Dub- Ideas further developed. The only thing that bothers me a bit about some tracks are the (too) many, somewhat cheesy “Aaaaahs”, “Ooooohs” and “Uuuuuhs” on the backing vocals and that's why there is also a half point deduction.

I'm sorry Ras Vorbei !
Actually, I wanted to save a comment. You or you are really working hard to make us horny Dubs
pick it out and I'll always get my BadVibes pretty quickly. But by now it should also be clear
that I do with this kind Dub (?) have no contracts. That's why I've waited until someone here gave you the right tip
appreciate white. But I don't want you to think I might be sick or anything, because one of them isn't mine
The commented review was probably a long time ago.
So unfortunately there are a few BadVibes from me again. I can't even cope with it, like the rhythm guitar here
is played. Somehow it comes across as too pushy and a little "overambitious", which is strange even for me
sounds, because I actually love it when the RiddimGuitar - if I even like to do it in a duet - really cracks. But something doesn't suit me here
without which I can describe exactly what it actually is. Then the melodies of the wind instruments again! Unfortunately, it doesn't appeal to me in a positive but rather in a negative sense.
The keyboard doesn't play on my wavelength either. The only keyboard that annoys me even more was the one from the Doors.
Made a lot of good tunes from the Doors unbearable for me.
Yes, and then of course I miss a lot here DubEffects. Only in the introduction of some tunes do I try to
here one DubWanting to make a record and then you probably no longer dared to do the jazz musicians here properly
fuss. It doesn't always have to be for me DubBe fireworks but here is a little bit "NoisePollution" ...............
Is like in materials science for metals. Only small impurities and dislocations achieve the correct strength
or other properties that one would like to have.
Yes sorry what should i do? I'm too lazy to lie ………………………. lemmi
