Sun's of Dub: Far East Dub

go east dub

Here it is finally, the debut album of hope for Dub made in Jamaica: "Far east Dub“(Rockers International) from the Suns of Dub. A cleverly chosen title, because the association with Augustus Pablo is imperative. And who, if not Pablo's son, Addis, can land this technical marketing highlight? He, his buddy Ras Jammy from Trinidad and his buddy Jah Bami, are the suns of the Dub. The hope of all rests on their shoulders Dubheads worldwide that Jamaica finally, finally, finally to Dub may find back. That new, innovative, unheard Dub-Sounds from the birthplace of the genre could echo and rapture us. So big is the hope that Addis and Ras Jammy have already been able to share the riddim cover with Lee Perry - without even having a single official release in the bag. It is now suddenly different, the first album is in the starting blocks (release in early November in memory of the coronation of Heile Selassies) and the expectations are high. But who the many laptop productions of the two Jamaican Dubheads from Soundcloud knows her meandering between traditional rockers sound, electronic dance music, trap and Dubstep in his ear will be surprised by the album - let's say: These are very classic recordings by an American studio band called The Dub Assassins. Addis Pablo had already worked for producer P-Dub (DubLife Muzik) decorated some of the band's backings with his melodic playing when the idea arose to create a Suns of Dub- to make album. From a total of 12 tracks recorded in America, Ras Jammy selected four and knitted a super showcase from them: First the melodica version by Addis, then the vocal version by Jah Bami and finally one Dub-Version. “With the album we want the traditional, original ones Dub- Bring the sound back to life. ”Explains Ras Jammy,“ Our next album could be an electronic production and sound completely different. ”The refusal to commit is also due to the fact that the three guys don't have any with the exception of their laptops further production possibilities and thus - as in this case - are dependent on the material of other producers. What they mean for “Far East Dub“I like it pretty much. It has become an extremely relaxed album, the sound is absolutely classic, Addis melodic playing is more atmospheric than melody-building DubIt's mixed à la Tubby and Jah Bami's soft soul voice goes down like oil. There's nothing to complain about. But - to be honest - nothing to freak out. Everything in the frame, you could say, scratching your head questioningly - to finally sit back with relish and enjoy a little old-schoolDub to enjoy.

"There is nothing to complain about" you said. Basically you are absolutely right, but I still have to piss off a bit. Four tracks each with three versions makes four different basslines for a total of 12 tunes. Well better than nothing.
I took a lot of the guys into inna soundcloud and I have to admit that I even had a few Dubs liked along with Major Lazer. Although it sounds very industrial, it exudes a certain hardness and positive aggressiveness. Sometimes it even grooves right.
But if they really only have a laptop to produce, I feel like trying to use it DubSaving the world for Jamaica is very ambitious. When I compare such a laptop with the capabilities of a large analog mixer that Scientist, Sherwood, Mad Professor and co. Have worked with, then it seems to me as if the Suns Of Dub Appear to a shootout with a knife. The comparison is not mine, but I like it.
Well, what the heck, I'm just a bit disappointed that they only selected four tracks and inflated them with three versions each. Perhaps I will see it differently after listening to the record at home a few times. However, the anticipation is limited.
(They even have ne Dubversion of Buzzrock "Dubwise Riddim “/ You could have released a CD of that, but no, instead bitty mc clean was allowed to knock one out).
