The Nextmen vs. Gentleman's Dub Club: Pound for Pound (Dub versions)

Last year there was a momentous argument between two acts from London: the heavyweight Nextmen and the nine members of the Gentleman's Dub Club. This discussion was documented in the form of the album "Pound for Pound" with illustrious eyewitnesses such as Hollie Cook or Parly B. A beautiful work in New English style as it could have come from Prince Fatty or the Frightners. But now comes the heavy follow-up: the DubVersions. The Nextmen vs. Gentleman's Dub Club: "pound for pound (Dub versions) " is the title of the work unimaginatively. The exchange of blows between the two very different bands turned out to be pleasantly harmonious. Fresh, uptempo and still with a good portion of heavy bass, occasional vocal samples and above all: very inspired mixing. Old school-Dub at its best.

Rating: 4 out of 5.
