Does anyone of you know that I Yahn I Arkestra from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania? I have to admit to my shame that this project has so far been below my radar. The present album, released 2 years ago, "Ras asana“(I Yahn I Arkestra) is a collaboration of the founding members of I Yahn I Arkestra (Ras Jah D, Kaseaopia) together with Chuck Treece, Radha Gopinath Das Marinelli, Timi Tanzania (Dub Warriors) and HR (Bad Brains). These seven spaceDubs reflect the merging of the spiritual worlds of Dub and the seven chakras of yoga. In fact, I'm more inclined to refer to it as “high consciousness music”, or some kind of “heavy” Dub“Which is heavily influenced by the old masters King Tubby, Count Ossies Nyahbinghi Sessions and Ras Michael. This ingenious music also breathes the spirit of the legendary Sun Ra, at the same time arouses associations that inevitably bring to mind the psychedelics of old Pink Floyd, the jazzy Mahavishnu Orchestra, the fantastic jam sessions of The Grateful Dead and the radicalism of the Bad Brains. The room is filled with an infinite number of different Indian percussions, keyboards of all kinds, spacey soundscapes and mystical, at the same time hypnotic free form chants. You inevitably have the feeling of being in an Indian temple, where the bright colors, the smells, the incense, the mood and the delicate sounds of the bells flood the senses. Overall, an incredibly exciting journey for Dub-Reggae astronauts in new acoustic territories.
Chuck Foster described this music very aptly: "Heavyweight Groundation Music for the Masses." I can only advise, go on a journey of discovery into the vast, unknown worlds of the Dubs!

Oh what a magical deep space night!!!
At first I don't like everything straight away. It's even 3: 4 in terms of my highlights. But the COSMIC THREE
I even like it so much that I have to look for superlatives again.
As a fan of Bombay Dub These sounds are not completely alien to Orchestra to me, but basically it is precisely “the foreign” or the far distance that makes this music so magical and psychedelic for me.
With “A Psalm” I don't need an opium pipe to feel like Noodles in “Once Upon a Time in America”.
“Breathe” is a little bit more mystical, but for me it still has a bassline that is difficult to access.
“Chant / Krishna Dub and lists ”need a little more time with me before I can surrender to my trance there too.
The trance comes back on itself with “My Heart” and “Spiritual Warfare” is my very special one DubNirvana!!!
The rhythm or the rhythms here blow me away. My “head” flies away without any psychedelic substances.
In addition, there is a bass groove that simply ingeniously complements and emphasizes the rhythm. And when vocals are added in this really spacey kind, I'm stoned. The “vocals” really sound as if they came (in) straight out of orbit from the back of the moon. It's good that we on earth have now invented the technology for such vocals
to be able to transfer. So the aliens can come. We are thank you DubMusic prepared for every kind of communication.
But if the aliens don't Dub but if you like, they can also fly on straight away. From people with Dub nothing to begin with, we really have enough here.
Until ……………………… lemmi
How nice that here in Dubblog team so diverse tastes are represented. After a total demolition (Dub Serge) here the opposite: enthusiasm. I have to say, however, that I somehow have a more balanced disposition and neither Dub Serge really bad, nor that I think Ras Asana is so great. Whereby: I think Dub Serge not as bad as I don't like Ras Asana. Can anyone else follow me? In short: yogaDub is not really my thing ;-)
This is where Vive comes to mind ... their album "Chakra Songs" is pleasant to listen to, has a little echo and is ideal for wrapping Christmas presents.
[…] By the way: We know Chuck Treece Dubheads already from the album "Ras Asana" discussed here. [...]
